The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS)

Abiding Love belongs to the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).  The Synod's headquarters are in Milwaukee, WI.  The President of the Synod is Pastor Mark Schroeder.

The WELS is divided into 12 districts.  Abiding Love Lutheran Church is one of about 90 congregations in the Nebraska District of the Synod.  The district president is Pastor Joel Frank of Plymouth, NE.

WELS is a Lutheran Church of just under half a million people with congregations throughout the United States.  As a Synod (Greek for "Walking Together") we do ministry that an individual congregation would find difficult to do by itself.  WELS establishes missions around the world and maintains schools to train future teachers and pastors.  All the Synod's schools are located in the Midwest. 

WELS is a church with a worldwide outreach ministry.  We have missionaries in the USA, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Africa, Europe, Russia, the Caribbean and South America.
